About us

die-pilgerwege.com is a guide to pilgrimage. The site has been around since 2018 and is for anyone setting off for the first time or looking for their next route.
It is run by NextDeep Marketing GmbH from Solnhofen in the Altmühltal. Christian Gebhardt and Johannes Huber are responsible for the content.
What you will find here
We present pilgrimage routes around the world and explain how to prepare: gear, costs, the pilgrim passport and the many small questions that come up before you leave. The Altmühltal has its own section, because that is where we are at home.
How we work
We research lengths, durations and the best times to go in publicly available sources such as pilgrim portals, tourist offices and the organisations that run the routes. Where sources disagree, we give a range or write “around”. Every route page shows the date of its last update.
Prices are guide values. Routes, accommodation and rules change, so check details with the official bodies before you travel. For trips to crisis regions, follow the current advice from your government.
Official bodies
- Pilgrim's Office in Santiago de Compostela for the Compostela and statistics
- German St James Society for the pilgrim passport and German routes
- German Federal Foreign Office for travel and safety advice
- UNESCO World Heritage for listed sites and routes
