Cammino di San Benedetto

In short: Cammino di San Benedetto: from Norcia to Montecassino. Length: around 300 km, duration: about 16 days. Best time: Spring and autumn.
Overview
St Benedict's Way links the three most important places in the life of St Benedict, the founder of Western monasticism: his birthplace Norcia, the monastery of Subiaco and the abbey of Montecassino.
In around 16 stages the route leads through the Apennine mountains, small villages and old monasteries. By bike it takes about a week. There is a lot of up and down, but in return you are mostly away from roads.
The 2016 earthquake hit Norcia hard. Find out about the current state of accommodation around the start before you leave.
