In short: Jesus Trail and Gospel Trail: from Nazareth to Capernaum. Length: around 65 km, duration: 4 days. Best time: March to May, October and November.
Overview
The Jesus Trail links Nazareth with Capernaum on the Sea of Galilee. It leads through Cana, past the Horns of Hattin and to the Mount of Beatitudes, and is above all a hiking route through the landscape of Galilee.
There is also the Gospel Trail, set up by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism. At a good 60 kilometres it is a similar length, but it mostly runs away from the villages. You can walk either in around four days.
Before you plan anything, be sure to check your government's current travel and safety advice. It gets very hot here in summer, so go in spring or autumn.
Main stops: Nazareth, Cana, Horns of Hattin, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum.
Four days through Galilee
Most people split the route over four days. It leads through Arab and Jewish towns, over hills and fields, until you see the Sea of Galilee. It is a good route for anyone who wants to experience biblical places on foot.
